winny chang | Coordinator
Initially I took on this job as a coordinator feeling like “oh yes I got this, easy peasy.” However, I
soon realized it’s not as easy as it may seem. As coordinator, I had to hunt people down one by one for
their work. I set up a deadline for each biography, and then made people turn it in on that day. The one
thing I found most difficult was having everything turned in on time. I solved this problem by telling
them if they didn’t send it, their biography wouldn’t go on the website. This tactic worked very well, as it
seemed to scare them a bit. I got my work very quickly after that, even if my teammates probably
thought I was very annoying.
I really liked the job of being a coordinator. I love leading people and telling them what to do, so
this was the perfect position for me. One of the things I did was to share a Drop-box folder with Claudia
so we both had easy access to the files. I am good at organizing stuff so it helped to make the project
run smoothly. All in all, this was a fun experience, and if I had the chance, I would love to be coordinator
again
Claudia shao | web guru
Being a web guru was so much more than I had ever imagined! I made three different websites with three different website hosts (Google Sites, SquareSpace, and Weebly) before finally settling with Weebly. We were given an extremely generous deadline for this project as well as lots and lots of class time to finish. However, I still found myself scrambling to finish my duties: opening and downloading files, copying and pasting onto the website, inputting pictures, finding better fonts and color schemes, etc. I hope my work looks like it paid off! I changed the theme of this site at least three times before finally being satisfied with this one.
It hasn't been easy, but I've definitely learned a lot, not only about the music in the 1920's, but also about my personal capabilities as well as working with a team. I was fortunate enough to have been blessed with a very cooperative team, and I'm really happy with the final product. Overall, I lost a few hours of sleep, but I had fun and learned a lot. And that is what counts.
